Pavel Durov Leaves France Amid Ongoing Investigations

Pavel Durov, the co-founder of Telegram, has secured temporary permission to leave France, where he is under investigation for serious crimes involving illicit activities on his platform. He returned to Dubai on March 15 and must report back to French authorities by April 7.

Mr. Durov, who has been in France for several months following his arrest last August, faces charges related to enabling illegal transactions, distribution of child sexual abuse materials, drug trafficking, and more. Despite these serious allegations, he refutes personal accountability for Telegram's users' posts and maintains that the platform has taken steps to enhance its oversight and cooperation with law enforcement worldwide.
