**Javier Milei's government intends to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO), citing significant disagreements over health management during the COVID-19 pandemic, reflecting a political partnership with Donald Trump.**

The Argentine administration, under the leadership of Javier Milei, has announced its intention to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO). A spokesperson for President Milei stated that the motivation behind this decision stems from "deep disagreements concerning health management, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic."

This development comes shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump initiated proceedings for the United States to exit the international health agency. The two leaders have expressed mutual admiration, with Milei referring to Trump's re-election as the "greatest political comeback in history," and Trump labeling Milei as "my favorite president."

In an official statement released by the Argentine presidential office, it was asserted that the WHO, established in 1948, has fallen short of its purpose during the pandemic, alleging that it promoted prolonged lockdowns lacking scientific basis. The statement further suggests that the organization's recommendations are influenced more by politics than by scientific evidence.

Local reports indicate that President Milei is expected to formalize this exit by signing an executive order in the near future. Speaking at a press conference, spokesperson Manuel Adorni emphasized that "we Argentines will not allow an international entity to infringe upon our sovereignty or our health." He asserted that leaving the WHO would empower Argentina to implement more tailored policies and manage its resources according to its own interests, noting that Argentina contributes approximately $10 million (£8 million) annually to the organization.

President Milei, identifying as an "anarcho-capitalist," has previously criticized the WHO, but discussions surrounding withdrawal gained traction in light of Trump's recent move. Additionally, when questioned about potential exits from other international agreements, Adorni remained cautious, affirming the president's commitment to enhancing Argentina’s freedom and preventing external interference.

Environmental advocates in Argentina express concern that Milei may also seek to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement, a treaty aimed at curbing greenhouse gas emissions.
