In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) indicated that they are reviewing the claims that the Red Cross received the body on Friday evening. IDF international spokesperson Lt Col Nadav Shoshani communicated via a social media post that while reports are under review, the previous body—handed over to Israeli officials on Thursday and claimed by Hamas to be Bibas—was identified through forensic testing as that of a different, unidentified woman.
